What is Preventive Medicine
It can include any of the following:
- Promoting fitness and wellbeing, e.g. exercise, sleep, diet
- Monitoring chronic diseases to minimise progression, e.g. asthma, diabetes, COPD, heart failure
- Early detection of disease when cure or management are more successful, e.g. cancer, heart, renal, hepatic disease
- Mental health, e.g. stress, anxiety, depression, psychiatric disease
- Women’s health, e.g. gynaecological conditions, reproduction, conditions that affect women differently.
Modern sensor technology has a role to play in each of these areas of preventive medicine. Sensors in Medicine 2026 will explore the most innovative current and developing sensor applications leading to improved health. Abstracts of oral and poster presentations are invited.
